With the help of a group of students from KEA – Copenhagen Business Academy, we can make Grindmaster an even better product.
Earlier this year, we received an enquiry from a group of students who wanted to do a project with us. A group who were studying production technology at KEA – Copenhagen Business Academy.
The five guys all had interesting backgrounds, including a carpenter, blacksmith and electronics hobbyist. They were to do a semester project in the spring, focusing on design, production and development. And who would turn down the opportunity to have such a team on a product?
The team, the timing and the product were right. That’s why they are now involved in developing Grindmaster – our robotic grinder, which we have received support from MUDP to develop. Grindmaster was at the right place in the development process, so we have high expectations of what the group can achieve.
Parallel development with fresh eyes
Grindmaster is still under development, and there is so much functionality in the robot that you can isolate parts of the development in closed projects—e.g., grinding pattern, raise/lower function, etc. It will be the student’s job to look at some of the isolated functionalities.
The group may be untested, but we have high expectations for them—and they are motivated. Of course, this doesn’t mean that they have to take over the work, but rather that we get an extra round of development on what we already do—a parallel development that can hopefully raise the level of the product in the end.
…and of course it’s super motivating to have a product and a company the students are so passionate about working with that they reach out to us unsolicited.
