Our projects

We specialize in rethinking traditional patterns and approach each project with an open mindset to accomplish a high degree of originality, every time.

We put our engineering skills into action, and new products benefit from the knowledge of previous work.

A selection of our projects

CONHOIST

Why: Temporary roofing is increasingly used in construction and renovations as it shields the building and people against damaging weather. However, it also restricts crane access from above, forcing manual lifting of materials that leads to bodily strain and process inefficiency.

Solution: The Conhoist crane system significantly improves the work environment and efficiency by operating under the temporary roof. It is a battery driven IoT gantry crane system mounted directly onto any scaffolding. It can lift any load up to 800 kg in all three dimensions and the IoT-features monitor and optimize the building process.

BIO-BAG DISPENSER

Why: Copenhagen Municipality converts food waste into biogas for electricity, heating, and gas. To encourage more residents to sort food waste, studies show that convenient access to bio-bags is key to establishing and maintaining good sorting habits.

Solution: The bio-bag dispenser offers thousands of Copenhagen residents easy access to free biobags for food-waste sorting. Located near the property’s waste station in the yard, residents can grab a new roll anytime. A sensor monitors stock levels, helping the municipality optimize refills.

FOOD WASTE BIN

Why: Copenhagen Municipality converts food waste into biogas for electricity, heating and fuel for their citizens. To encourage more residents to sort food waste, the municipality wishes to offer a redesigned food-waste bin which better meets the specific needs of Copenhageners.

Solution: The new food waste bin, designed with insights from an anthropologic study on the old bin, features a more harmonious look, improved balance, no sharp edges, and is made from recycled plastic. It fits perfectly on the waste rack, allowing convenient placement under the sink for optimal sorting.

RACK FOR WASTE BINS

Why: Many Copenhageners live in apartments with limited space. The food waste bin often ends up in hard-to-reach corners of the kitchen where it is inconvenient or barely possible to use.

Solution: The rack is effortlessly clicked onto a standard waste bag brace and allows the food waste bin to hang in prime position under the sink next to the residual waste bag. The rack helps Copenhageners to adopt good waste sorting habits so the city can become more sustainable.

JEEBEE + ADD-ONS

Why: Construction workers repeatedly lift and push heavy materials in their daily work, causing bodily wear-down that affects both personal and professional life.

Solution: JeeBee is an all-terrain, motorised multi-trailer that makes transportation of materials light and easy. Its motorised base module has a wide range of “add-ons”, specially designed to each meet the specific transportation needs of different professions.

UPCLIMBER

Why: Window renovation often relies on manual labor due to the lack of space for cranes and window-lifting machines, making it a heavy and uncomfortable task that requires more than one worker.

Solution: Upclimber is a compact lifting device that allows one person to install a window in tight spaces without heavy lifting. It can be hooked onto any structure, for example, a scaffold, and smoothly lifts the window using a built-in motor, battery, wire, and suction cups to grip the glass.

AMBITLOCKER

Why: Managing shared lockers across schools, hospitals, concert venues, and more, is a complex task for building administrators due to constant user changes.

Solution: Ambitlocker is a digital and Internet-connected padlock (IoT) that allows system administrators to effortlessly change and assign codes via a cloud platform. Ambitlocker fits on existing lockers without the need for built-in components, and end-users simply scan a QR code to book and use a lock.

OPLØFT

Why: A key to greater workplace health and productivity is finding the perfect balance between moving, standing and sitting. However, traditional sit-stand desks are not always an option in flexible workspaces, home offices or workspaces with pre-existing tables.

Solution: Opløft is a slim and portable sit-stand platform for a healthier, more dynamic working life. It is placed on top of a table and the cross-structure frame creates stability in use and enables it to fold neatly away. Opløft is produced and sold by our British partner Posturite and was nominated for Danish Design Awards in the ‘Better Work’ category.

BENCH FOR FLEXIBLE USE

Why: Copenhagen Business School (CBS) wished to provide hallway seating and tables for students’ short breaks and conversations, but fire safety regulations restricted space, preventing standard solutions.

Solution: The flexible bench is uniquely designed with seats that flip to serve as chairs or tabletops. The robust and flexible bench fits the slim hallways and has become a signature furniture across CBS’s locations.

‘SMART’ BIKE PATH IN EGEDAL MUNICIPALITY

Why: Egedal Municipality observed that young bikers often skipped helmets and chose trafficked streets over safer, scenic bike paths. How could they encourage safer choices?

Solution: An interactive bike path featuring nine large animal sculptures was created and installed. The sculptures interact with helmet-attached chips handed out to all students and playfully illuminate when the students cycle past, making the safe ride a fun ride!

SMARTCUTTER

Why: Brick-cutting in construction often involves the repetitive manual cutting of many bricks in a single day, causing pain in workers’ shoulders and hands and posing a risk of long-term injury.

Solution: SmartCutter is a simple-to-use, battery-driven brick cutter that eliminates body stress at the push of a button. SmartCutter is produced and sold by Smart Cutter ApS.
