CONHOIST
Why: Temporary shelters are increasingly used in construction and renovation projects as they protect the building and people from damaging weather. However, they also restrict crane access from above, forcing manual handling of materials, leading to physical strain and inefficiencies in work processes.
Solution: The Conhoist crane system significantly improves the working environment and efficiency of operating under the temporary cover. It is a battery-powered IoT gantry crane system that mounts directly to any scaffolding. It can lift any load up to 800 kg in all three dimensions, and the IoT features monitor and optimise the construction process.
BIOBAG DISPENSER
What's the point?The City of Copenhagen converts food waste into biogas, which is used for electricity, heat and gas. To get more residents to sort food waste, studies show that easy access to bio-bags is key to establishing and maintaining good sorting habits.
Solution: The bio-bag dispenser gives thousands of Copenhageners easy access to free bio-bags for sorting food waste. Located at the property's yard waste station, residents can pick up a new roll at any time. A sensor monitors the stock level and helps the municipality optimise replenishment.
CONTAINER FOR FOOD WASTE
What's the point?The City of Copenhagen converts food waste into biogas for electricity, heat and fuel for the city's citizens. To encourage more residents to sort food waste, the municipality wants to offer a redesigned food waste bin that better meets the specific needs of Copenhageners.
SolutionThe new food waste bin, designed based on insights from an anthropological study of the old bin, has a more harmonious look, improved balance, no sharp edges and is made from recycled plastic. It fits perfectly on the waste rack, making it easy to place under the sink for optimal sorting.
STAND FOR WASTE BIN
What's the point?Many Copenhageners live in apartments with limited space. Food waste bins often end up in hard-to-reach corners of the kitchen where they are difficult or almost impossible to use.
Solution: The stand easily clicks onto a standard waste bag stand and makes it possible to optimally hang the food waste bin under the sink next to the residual waste bag. The stand helps Copenhageners establish good waste sorting habits so that the city can become more sustainable.
JEEBEE + ACCESSORIES
What's the point?Construction workers repeatedly lift and push heavy materials in their daily work, which over time takes its toll on the body and affects both personal and professional life.
Solution: JeeBee is an all-terrain, motorised multi-trailer that makes transporting materials easy and effortless. Its motorised base module has a wide range of “add-ons”, each of which is custom-designed to meet the specific transport needs of different professions.
UPCLIMBER
Why: Window renovation often relies on manual labour due to limited space for cranes and lifting equipment, making the task heavy and inconvenient and requiring multiple workers.
Solution: The Upclimber is a compact lifting device that allows one person to install a window in tight spaces without heavy lifting. It can be attached to any structure, such as scaffolding, and lifts the window smoothly using a built-in motor, battery, wire and suction cups that grip the glass.
AMBITLOCKER
What's the point?: Managing shared lockers across schools, hospitals, concert venues and other environments is a complex task for administrators due to the constant user changes.
SolutionAmbitlocker is a digital, internet-connected padlock (IoT) that allows system administrators to easily change and assign codes via a cloud platform. Ambitlocker fits on existing enclosures without the need for in-built components and end users simply scan a QR code to book and use a lock.
LIFT
Why: Finding the right balance between moving, standing and sitting is key to a better working environment and productivity. However, traditional sit-stand desks are not always an option in flexible work environments, home offices or workplaces with existing desks.
Solution: Opløft is a slim and portable sit-to-stand platform for a healthier and more dynamic working life. It is placed on top of a table and the cross frame creates stability during use and allows it to fold neatly. Opløft is produced and sold by our UK partner Posturite and was nominated for the Danish Design Awards in the ‘Better Work’ category.
BENCH FOR FLEXIBLE USE
Why: Copenhagen Business School (CBS) wanted to provide seating and tables in the corridors for students' short breaks and conversations, but fire safety regulations limited the space and made standard solutions impossible.
Solution: The flexible bench is uniquely designed with seats that can be tilted and function as either chairs or table surfaces. The sturdy and flexible bench fits perfectly in the narrow corridors and has become a signature piece of furniture across CBS locations.
‘SMART’ CYCLE PATH IN EGEDAL MUNICIPALITY
Why: Egedal Municipality found that young cyclists often failed to wear helmets and chose busy roads over the safer, scenic cycle paths. How could safer choices be encouraged?
Solution: An interactive cycle path with nine large animal sculptures was developed and installed. The sculptures interact with chips attached to students' helmets and playfully light up as students cycle past - turning the safe route into the fun route!

Why: Brick cutting in the construction industry often involves repetitive, manual cutting of many bricks in one day, causing pain in workers' shoulders and hands and posing a risk of long-term injury.
Solution: SmartCutter is an easy-to-use, battery-powered brick cutter that eliminates physical strain with the push of a button. SmartCutter is produced and sold by Smart Cutter ApS.

“TOWER BASKET” PUBLIC WASTE BIN
Why: The City of Copenhagen needed to modernise waste management in the streetscape by replacing old bins that had insufficient capacity and inefficient emptying processes.
Solution: “The ”Tower Basket' waste bin is a robust public waste bin tailored to the specific needs of the City of Copenhagen. It has a high volume, takes up minimal urban space and ensures an efficient and ergonomic emptying process. It combines proven principles of public waste management with new and unique details.
PUBLIC ASH BINS IN COPENHAGEN
Why: The City of Copenhagen needed to modernise waste management in urban spaces by introducing intuitive, safe and easy-to-empty ash bins.
Solution: Robust and tailored to the specific needs of the City of Copenhagen, the new ash bins combine proven principles of public waste management with new and unique details. They are mounted on the side of public waste bins and can be emptied quickly via a hidden opening in the bottom.
