We have brought an unusually current project to the students at DTU to show what concept development looks like in practice. And it hasn't just been exciting teaching – we've also received useful feedback in return.
The Redesign course is running again at DTU, and we are back as lecturers. Recently, we have been talking about concept creation – and this year we have had a highly relevant project as teaching material.
Alongside the teaching, we are in the process of developing a product for Copenhagen Municipality, which we can use as a case. The product is therefore not yet finished, and this gives us the opportunity to delve deep into the various concepts that have been on the drawing board along the way.
At DTU, of course, it's more about reflecting on the process than the actual outcome. But when 60 students then start talking about the different concepts and asking questions anyway, we have to admit: There are some good points that we can take back for further development!
Synergies can continue
The logic behind using our own, current project was, of course, to serve as a highly relevant and contemporary case for the students. That it also provided us with useful feedback in return has only been a welcome surprise.
And the synergies don't have to stop there.
As the project is still being developed alongside teaching, we can delve into the next phases in the coming months. We look forward to showcasing the prototypes!
