Although most things can be simulated and digitised today, the interaction between the office and the workshop is still crucial for us. And for our customers and partners.
You have to have a workshop where you can tinker about if you want to call yourself an inventor. So, of course, we have that too.
In everyday life, it provides an excellent interplay. Quick iterations are much easier when there's such a short distance from the design software in the office to the bandsaw downstairs in the workshop.
That's the kind of thing that brings job satisfaction.
Distracting mockups
We often take customers and partners down to the workshop. Even though you can draw and simulate most things these days, there's just something cool about being able to pick up the products and feel them during the process.
The inventor's workshop just has a completely different wow factor.
We experienced it most recently when we had a group of collaborators visiting who found it difficult to sit still during our presentation. Surrounding them in the workshop were the various mock-ups of the project – and they couldn't wait to get their hands on them.
…and we’re using our workshop so much these days – and for so many different projects – that we need more space.
